You can of course break the rules but you may end up with vinyl that doesn t last as long or that bubbles or warps.
Why i prefer iron on over regular vinyl.

Whenever i have a choice i will absolutely use iron on vinyl over regular adhesive vinyl.

Switch to a cotton press cloth and try again.
If you start pressing vinyl or a similar fabric with a thicker press cloth like a fleece or flannel and you aren t getting results try switching press cloths before changing the heat on your iron.
But you can do the same to prepare your floor so the new vinyl flooring will have a perfectly even surface to adhere to.
The vinyl banners are great tools for large format advertising but they are prone to wrinkles.
I m using cricut vinyl and an easypress for mine but this tutorial can be completed with other vinyl cutting machines and materials as well.
Once you get comfortable with iron on vinyl it can be fun to branch out and experiment a little bit.
When you go to iron on you flip the vinyl over so that the plastic sheet should now be up between your shirt and your iron then when you apply heat the vinyl sticks to your shirt not the iron and the plastic sheet comes off when you re done.
Of course there are certain things you can t put iron on vinyl on so always make sure you actually can but if you can use iron on it s awesome.
If you still aren t seeing results you can turn up the heat on your iron a small amount.
There will come a point where you want to have multiple colors of vinyl in an iron on project.
A thin layer of joint compound suitable for indoor use spread over the old vinyl floor will patch up any gaps or dents and the holes left by removing the broken bits of the old vinyl floor.
Layering iron on vinyl is a great way to great more detailed dimensional and professional looking heat transfer designs at home.
