I m so glad you posted this i ve been thinking about wanting to change my tile around my fireplace but i didn t know you could paint it with the heat coming out right next to it.
Can you paint porcelain tile around a fireplace.
So glad to know there are no problems.
For this fireplace i used a black enamel paint that did not need primer but if i had gone with regular latex paint i definitely would ve primed it first.
Time for the fun part.
So when i told him i wanted to redo the fireplace for next to nothing and i wanted to paint the tile i was shocked to hear him just say okay let s do it which really meant okay honey you can do that if you want as in it s all you buddy not a big deal though.

If replacing the tiles isn t an option you can paint them to give them a new.
I have also repaired chipped tile with same paint.
If the tile surrounding the fireplace is old dingy or out of date it can bring down the tone of the entire room.
It would wear a bit and then once a year i redid it for 7 years until i moved.
You can also use feather finish by ardel if you want a concrete look.
After painting seal the tiles to prevent damage.
Painting tiles is a cost effective way to change the look of an area.
Thoroughly clean and repair any damage before you begin painting.
Here i used the foam rollers for a smooth finish.
