If you have a heat press and the canvas is too small for the wood frame to fit over the plate i would recommend using your iron instead.
We will be using a lot of pressure burnishing the vinyl.
If you are looking for instructions on how to iron htv on canvas fabric ie not an art canvas but a canvas tote bag you re in luck htv sticks wonderfully to canvas fabric just be sure to wash the canvas to give it some texture and the htv will stick wonderfully.
The whole canvas was dry in under an hour and paint could still be applied to it and holy of holy s the vinyl stuck.
One of the difficulties with getting the vinyl to stick is the canvas does not have a hard surface.
If you still aren t seeing results you can turn up the heat on your iron a small amount.
Before you put your vinyl design onto the canvas grab a large hardback book.
Place the iron on vinyl onto the mat shiny side down and load the mat into the cutting machine.
Switch to a cotton press cloth and try again.
You can also use adhesive vinyl for doing a reverse canvas but i prefer the look of one that has been done with htv and a heat press.
I think it was a beautiful addition to the wedding and it was such a sweet personal touch that didn t cost too much money.
Place the heat transfer vinyl design onto the canvas in the position where you want it to be placed.
Result the htv stuck perfectly.
